No. 38 Collier Family
The heirs of Barron Collier remain among Florida’s largest landowners, lending their name to a Gulf Coast county that encompasses the northern edge of Everglades National Park as well as the city of Naples. The family’s eponymous company grows oranges, grapefruits, and lemons throughout Southwest Florida. Since the 1950s, the Colliers have raised a Brahman cross on the 55,000-acre Immokalee Ranch, one of the largest in the region. The Silver Strand Sod Farm division grows Bahia sod along with other grasses.
