The Association of Fish & Wildlife Agencies (AFWA) has named 20 leaders from the outdoor recreation, retail and manufacturing sectors, the energy industry, and sportsmen’s groups to its Blue Ribbon Panel on Sustaining America’s Diverse Fish and Wildlife Resources.

Under the leadership of co-chairs Johnny Morris, founder and CEO of Bass Pro Shops, and Dave Freudenthal, former Wyoming governor, the panel will spend a year drafting policy options on sustained funding for fish and wildlife diversity. Currently state hunting and fishing license dollars, along with federal taxes on boat fuel, and hunting and fishing gear, helps fund conservation programs. The AFWA works to sustain the 95 percent of all species that are neither hunted nor fished.
