In 1913, a Canadian attorney named David Fasken purchased the 222,600-acre C Ranch from the estate of Nelson Morris, a Chicago meatpacker who had bought the acreage in Andrews, Ector, Martin, and Midland counties from the Texas General Land Office in 1883. According to published reports in the Midland Reporter-Telegram, the Fasken family retains the acreage, minus 57,600 acres sold to J.E. Mabee in the 1930s.
