Pifer’s Auction & Realty
2012 Sales: > $100 Million
Who: In addition to enjoying an extensive real estate background, Kevin Pifer is a former North Dakota Deputy Commissioner of Agriculture. He also has considerable experience in the finance industry and served as the president and CEO of an insurance company and bank in the Fargo and Bismarck markets. A full-service brokerage, auction, and land management firm, Pifer’s is headquartered in one of the hottest land markets in the nation: the Northern Great Plains. In addition to operating throughout the Dakotas, Pifer’s also does business in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Montana.
Wow: Thanks to a white-hot energy market and the rise in commodity prices, the market in the Dakotas continues its steady ascent. Pifer’s year-over-year sales nearly tripled.
Insight: “Farmland throughout the region increased 25% – 45% over the last 12 months,” says Steve Link. “Sustaining those levels of appreciation will be difficult and unlikely in 2013. We do not predict a major land value drawback in the short term unless interest rates increase or commodity prices deteriorate significantly.”
Pictured Above: Located in Pierce County, North Dakota, Antelope Hills is a premier property that includes a farm site, productive farmland, hayland and pasture. Comprised of 2,622 ± acres, this ranch presents a rare opportunity to purchase a working ranch with contiguous acreage.
