Gap cofounders Donald and Doris Fisher turned their attention to ecofriendly timber production in 1998 when they established Mendocino Redwood Company. A decade later, the couple acquired Pacific Lumber, which they renamed Humboldt Redwood. The company upholds its commitment to green forestry by harvesting only two percent of its acreage annually.
