2012 Sales: > $100 Million
Who: Operates primarily in the West with coverage into the Great Plains, South, and Southwest in 2012. Specializes in the sale of agricultural working ranches, production farmland, and luxury mountain recreational ranches.
Wow: Closed productive farm in Louisiana spanning just over 9,000 acres for $42 million.
Insight: “The market continues to show that buyers are looking for either income, which directs them to the agricultural land market of farms and working ranches, or they are looking for value and seeking steep discounts on recreational or transitional land. The farm and working ranch market showed strong appreciation numbers. The recreational land and the transitional land have bottomed, but there is still some upside. Buyers sense this,” says Broker John Stratman.
