Who: Realty Marketing/Northwest is the largest auction company of its kind in the western U.S., specializing in timberland, ranchland, and recreational properties, along with vineyards. It focuses exclusively on oral and sealed-bid auctions. Realty Marketing/ Southeast handles a variety of large land tracts in the southeastern part of the country.
Where: Realty Marketing/Northwest has offices in Oregon and Washington, with coverage throughout the West, while Realty Marketing/Southeast covers Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Mississippi, and Alabama.
Why: Realty Marketing/Northwest has sold over $1.1 billion in land at auction since 1985. “There are no hidden reserves and no starting bids,” President John Rosenthal says. “All properties are offered with published reserved prices, providing a transparent bidding process to all prospective buyers.”
Wow: In two separate sealed-bid auctions, the firm sold the Kahn Timberlands, a private portfolio of California redwood property featured in National Geographic, and the Minam River Lodge in northeast Oregon.
