2011 Land Report Best Brokerages: Mossy Oak Properties
Mossy Oak Properties
2011 Sales: > $100 Million
Who: Franchise-based network of brokerages specializing in rural land for recreational or investment purposes. Founded by Toxey Haas, the man behind Mossy Oak camouflage, Mossy Oak benefits from the brand recognition among hunting enthusiasts and outdoorsmen.
Insights: “The $1 million-plus tracts of land moved better toward the end of 2011 with some of the largest sales in our history closing in late 2011. Tillable ground continues to be a huge draw, but we are seeing ‘pure’ recreational tracts starting to move again. Buyers and sellers are starting to realign,” says CEO and President Chris Hawley.
